Cummings & Cummings is a continuation of a firm started by Attorney Robert L. Cummings in 1995. Today the firm's traditions are carried on by husband-and-wife attorneys James and Sydney Cummings. Together with our paralegals, Jodi Morris and Brittany Halstead, we have assembled an experienced, local team to help you handle your criminal case.

Attorney James Cummings began practicing law in 2001 and has been continually recognized for the quality legal service he provides. He is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, Carteret County Bar Association, Judicial District 3-B Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, and the Eastern North Carolina Inn of Court.

Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Cummings believes in giving back to his community. For the past seven years he has served as a board member and is a past president of the North Carolina Seafood Festival. Currently, Mr. Cummings is President of the Brandt Animal Fund. Mr. Cummings is an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City, N.C.

Attorney Sydney Cummings has experience in a variety of legal areas, including criminal and juvenile law. For the past six years. Mrs. Cummings has served as the Guardian Ad Litem Attorney for Carteret County. She has also served as Public Guardian of Carteret County. Mrs. Cummings is past president of the 3-B judicial district and a current member of the Carteret County, 3-B, and North Carolina Bar Associations. Mrs. Cummings is a Sunday School teacher and active member of First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City, N.C.
